I am a solo web developer and professional Graghic Designer. Over the years, I have honed my skills in web development and graphic design through self-teaching and formal education. I have proficient knowledge in many web technologies and frameworks, as well as industry standard design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
In 2016 I started to gain an intrest in computer science. At this time I learned how to utilize MS .bat files to automate file restructuring on my file system. I even used this to build simple text based games. It was fun to see how "code" could be used to create something interactive,
I was hooked.
Around this time I discovered web development. I started learning HTML and CSS to make web pages. The projects were extremely basic, and quite ugly. But I was excited to show everyone in my family what I had made. At first the sites I made were only on localhost, but I eventually learned about 000webhost that offered free web hosting. The service has now been discontinued, but it played a monumental role in shaping my early web development journey.
During the hight of Covid-19 I decided to take my web development skills more seriously. Stuck in the house, I would spend most of my free time gaining a deeper understanding of Javascript. Most of the sites that I had made previously were static HTML and CSS. Learning Javascript allowed me to make my sites more dynamic and interactive. At this point I used my love of gaming to drive my projects. I made a couple game clones utilizing Javascript and the HTML5 canvas element. I created a simple flappy bird style game, as well as a snake clone. These projects took me a while to understand, but it taught me a lot about programming logic and problem solving.
2022 was quite uneventful for me in terms of web development. I was busy with school and work, but this is when I started learning more about UX/UI design principles along with my hobby in painting and drawing. I taught myself a lot about color theory, composition, and design balance. These skills would later prove to be very useful in my web development journey.
Although I haddent planned on it, in 2023 I decided to enroll in a local community college to pursue a degree in web design. I haddent realized how many concepts I retained and had good knowledge of; I thought I would have imposter syndrome. However, I quickly found that I was ahead of many of my classmates in terms of understanding web development concepts. This gave me a lot of confidence in my skills and motivated me to keep learning and growing as a developer.
After graduating with my associates degree in web design, I decided to continue my education and pursue a bachelor's degree in computer science - Full Stack Web Development. At this time I also started a full time position as a Graghic Designer. Although the position is not directly related to web development, it allows me to utilize my design skills and gain experience in a professional setting. As I pursue my formal education, I have also continued to self teach myself new web technologies and frameworks. In 2025 I have become proficient in React, Next.js, and tailwind CSS. I know that this is just the beginning of my journey as a web developer and I still have much to learn, but I am excited for what the future holds!
